Immigration Law

Assistance with residency, visas, and representation before authorities in the Czech Republic.

Protection of your assets Prevention of future issues Effective dispute resolution Personalized approach Saving you time and reducing stress

I provide comprehensive legal services in the field of immigration law, catering to both European Union citizens and their family members, as well as citizens of countries outside the EU. I have been practicing in this field for over two decades, during which time I have provided legal services to citizens from dozens of countries worldwide.

In addition to advising on matters governed by the Act on the Residence of Foreign Nationals in the Czech Republic and the Citizenship Act, I assist with various life situations you may encounter in the country—whether involving real estate purchases, family matters (such as child custody or divorce), or issues related to employment or business activities.

Visas and Residence Permits

I will prepare applications for these residence authorizations for you or your family members and represent you throughout the subsequent proceedings:

  • long-term visa (visa for a stay exceeding 90 days)
  • long-term residence permit
  • extension of the validity of a long-term residence permit (for purposes such as study, scientific research, job seeking, employment – employee card, business, family reunification, investment, Blue Card, or status as a resident of another EU Member State)
  • registration certificate for an EU citizen
  • temporary residence permit
  • extension of the validity of a residence card
  • permanent residence permit
  • extension of the validity of a permanent residence certificate or card
  • status of a long-term resident of the European Community within the territory
  • If your visa application has been rejected, I will prepare a request for a review of the reasons for the refusal, as well as an appeal in the event that an application for a residence permit (or its extension) is rejected.
  • Furthermore, I will represent you in all other proceedings under the Act on the Residence of Foreign Nationals:
  • proceedings regarding the issuance of a foreigner's passport or a travel identity document
  • proceedings regarding administrative expulsion or a decision on the obligation to leave the territory, or
  • proceedings regarding the revocation of a residence permit. I can also represent you in filing a lawsuit against a decision by the Ministry of the Interior or in lodging an administrative appeal with the Supreme Administrative Court.

Employee Card

If you hold an employee card and wish to change jobs, I can assist you in carrying out this change by filing a notification of a change of employer; I can also assist you if you are at risk of losing your job.

I will advise you on the relevant deadlines for addressing your situation (such as the deadline for submitting the notification of a change of employer) and on when you are required to select a new position exclusively from the central register of vacancies open to employee card holders.

I can provide similar advice regarding a change of employment if you hold an EU Blue Card.

Granting of Citizenship

In addition to residency matters, I will represent you in proceedings under the Citizenship Act, particularly in proceedings concerning the granting of Czech citizenship:

  • I will prepare your application for Czech citizenship, including all necessary supporting documents;
  • I will obtain all required confirmations from the relevant authorities;
  • If you do not meet a specific condition for granting Czech citizenship, I will recommend the appropriate course of action (e.g., whether to wait until you meet the condition or to apply for a waiver of the statutory requirement).

If your application has been rejected, I will prepare an administrative appeal and represent you during the appeal proceedings.
